My name is Joachim Smit. I was born in Amsterdam in 1960 and have been a professional software developer since 1985. I am the founder of Maziance.
Although my mother is well over 80, she is just as fit, energetic, and sharp as she was 20 years ago. She doesn’t seem to be aging. I thought about people my age who are not as blessed as I am, who have to care for a sick father or mother, perhaps someone with dementia.
I then decided to develop a dementia clock with the ambition of making it the best dementia clock ever made. Whether I have succeeded in this is for others to judge, but I have certainly given my best effort.
We will continue to work on improving our software in order to help you and your loved one as best we can. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for improving the software, we encourage you to contact us. We’re easy to reach by email.
And one more thing: the name Maziance explained. Caring for someone with dementia is a collaborative effort between informal caregivers, family members, and professionals. ‘Mazi’ means ‘together’ in Greek.
